Your cabinetry will usually be fitted within one week, with worktop templating typically arranged for the Thursday or Friday of the first week.
For stone worktops, there is generally a 7–10 day fabrication turnaround following templating. During this time, our team will continue with any additional works, finishing touches and snagging.
Timings can vary depending on the size and complexity of your project and your chosen worktop material, but we’ll keep you informed throughout the installation process so you know exactly what to expect.
All of our cabinets are designed and made in our Oxfordshire workshop by our own team of skilled cabinet makers.
Our showroom sits alongside the workshop, with a viewing window allowing you to see our team at work. We’re also very happy to show you around during your visit, giving you the opportunity to see first-hand where and how our kitchens are made.
Yes. Our design process usually begins with an initial telephone conversation or a meeting at our showroom, where we can get to know you, understand your project and discuss how we can help.
If you have architectural drawings, plans or rough measurements, we can often provide an initial estimated cost at this stage.
The next step is a visit to your home, where we carry out a full site survey, take detailed measurements and spend more time understanding the space and how you would like it to work. From there, we can begin developing your kitchen design.
To secure your allocated build slot in our workshop diary, we ask for a £750 booking deposit.
A 60% payment is then due as we approach the start of manufacture, allowing us to order materials and begin making your kitchen in our Oxfordshire workshop.
Once your kitchen has been built and painted, we’ll invite you into the workshop to see it before it leaves us. At this stage, a further 30% payment is due.
The final 10% is retained until completion, giving you the reassurance that everything has been installed, finished and completed as agreed.
Yes. We have our own dedicated installation team, who work closely with our cabinet makers throughout the process. This close relationship means they understand exactly how each piece has been designed and made before it arrives in your home.
Keeping design, manufacture and installation within the Monkeywood team allows us to maintain the same level of care and attention to detail at every stage, while giving you the reassurance of knowing your project remains in our hands from start to finish.
Every Monkeywood kitchen is completely bespoke, so there isn’t a standard price. The overall cost will depend on a number of factors, including the size and configuration of the kitchen, materials, finishes and the individual details you choose.
Because we make our cabinetry ourselves, we aren’t restricted by standard sizes or configurations and can design each element specifically for your space.
If you send us a rough plan, architectural drawings or measurements, we can usually provide an initial estimated cost to give you an idea of budget before progressing further.
Yes. We can source a wide range of appliances, worktops, handles and other finishing details as part of your project.
During the design process, we’ll discuss the different options with you, including any particular brands or models you have in mind, and help you select products that complement both the design and the way you use your kitchen.
Our lead time varies depending on our workshop schedule at the point you confirm your order.
As every project is individually designed and handmade in our Oxfordshire workshop, we recommend starting the conversation as early as possible. Our diary can become booked several months in advance, particularly for larger projects.
Once your build slot is secured, we’ll guide you through the design process and keep you informed of the key dates leading up to manufacture and installation.
We work with a carefully selected range of materials depending on the design and finish of your kitchen.
Our carcasses are typically made from 19mm oak-veneered MDF, although walnut, ash and other finishes are also available.
For our painted cabinetry, our frames, doors and drawers are made from Brown Maple, chosen for its fine grain, stability and beautifully smooth painted finish. We can also work with a variety of solid timbers for natural or stained cabinetry.
Our panels are made from moisture-resistant MDF, selected for its stability and to minimise the risk of movement over time.
