Tom is the founder and back bone behind Monkeywood. Learning his craft at a young age, Tom started wood turning on his lathe before going on to complete an apprenticeship in high end cabinet making where most of his work took him to the prestigious areas of Kensington and Chelsea. Tom is at the forefront of everything about the company and loves being involved from the design process all the way through to final top coat of paint on site. In his spare time you will find Tom working on a new project or under the bonnet of a Defender.

Juan is a highly valued member of the team at Monkeywood. Juan and Tom’s relationship started when Tom started his apprenticeship at the company Juan used to work for. Juan was a big part of training Tom to be the craftsman that he is today before coming to work for Tom in 2018. In his spare time you can find Juan tango dancing or tinkering in his shed.

James is a key member to Monkeywood with his eye for detail and ambition to always be creating something. James relishes new challenges and will work on any project with meticulous attention to detail. James regularly competes in world-skills competitions for Great Britain and he travels around the world taking on the best young cabinet makers from other countries.

Davide is one of our newest members of the team that has already made a huge impact. Alongside working at Monkeywood full time, Davide is also completing a degree in product design and furniture making and has just won an award for best sustainable design in this category. In his spare time Davide loves to experiment with materials, always thinking of the next project or playing on his motorbike.

Fred is part of our extended team here at Monkeywood and a much valued team member when it comes to fitting projects. Fred has worked along side Tom for many years and is part of the family inside and outside of work. His ’can do’ attitude and skilled workman ship makes him the perfect fitter for all of the bespoke jobs we create. In his spare time you can find Fred in the garden or working on his vintage tractors.

Olivia joined the team to help with the designing processes and day to day admin. Olivia has been designing kitchens for nearly 10 years after graduating with a BA Hons in Interior Design and has been friends with Tom since school. Olivia is the first point of contact you will have and your contact throughout the designing process. Also getting involved with a lot of the marketing, you may see her in your kitchen taking photo’s of the finished project.
